As a speaker, teacher, entrepreneur and accountant….. Rich takes his diverse background to guide you to become a more powerful, energetic, profitable individual, team, association or business. His past experience includes time with a Big 8 Accounting firm (are you old enough to remember when there were 8?), as an assistant controller of a start-up division of one of the largest privately held corporations in the world, and several years with small businesses. “So if you're wondering if I'll have a clue............ I just want you to know you're hiring someone who has lived the "cubicle" life; who understands business operations.” After putting down the accounting pencil he taught a CPA review course and was a finance and information systems recruiter. The regional management for the CPA review course will forever remain puzzled as to how the words accounting and fun could end up in the same sentence on student evaluations

Topics:
1) You Are the Weakest Board Member - Fun interactive session modeled after the game show. We first find out what everyone REALLY knows about their organization and the role(s) they just signed up for. Except in this game show we don't actually penalize the weakest board member/volunteer, but honor their strengths. Using client bylaws and documents I customize a program that ultimately lays the foundation for future planning sessions by identifying people's strengths, weaknesses, interests and value. We then take the learning from the game and apply that learning to the specific organizational goals and objectives each leader will be looking to implement/complete during their term(s); while not burning out or abusing volunteers. It's lively, educational, energetic, humbling, and fun all at the same time. Since this is a national association we can make it more interesting by splitting teams into states, regions; so many possibilities for some after the event “competition”.
Three critical outcomes:
a) Participant will understand how to use bylaws and other operating documents as the resource to keep them on track, out of trouble and well liked.
b) Identify ways to best use volunteers; even if it means changing the roles (and titles) people were previously assigned.
c) An educational/meeting tool that each leader can take back to their respective organization
Bonus Outcome: Surfaces the competitive nature of each leader
2) Permission to Speed
The program with something for everyone! Some people need to hear about teamwork. Others need to hear about leadership. Is your group actively engaged in the mission and values of the organization? Are there people in your organization being held back because of their own limiting belief systems? Do you wish they would be more creative or take some risks? Did you ever wish they would leave their personal baggage at home? They need Permission to Speed. We'll take a 40 mile drive that could change their life - and yours! |
