Often referred to as "Mr. Sarbanes Oxley"TM for his expertise in Corporate Governance, Risk Management and Internal Control Compliance, Prof. Sanjay Anand, Chairperson of SOX and GRC Institutes of the GRC Group, is a prolific speaker, writer and businessperson. From his teenage years developing one of Asia's bestselling Computer Assisted Learning software packages, through his career when he earned awards like J.D. Edwards' Consultant of the Year, Special Achievement, Outstanding Performance, and Valuable Teamwork, he has always enjoyed the excitement and challenge of helping individuals and businesses grow and achieve. His client list reads like a Who's Who from the Fortune 500s and the Global 2000s, and spans dozens of distinct industries from academia to technology, and practically every geography from Asia to the Americas. He has consulted, trained or worked with hundreds of companies, including domestic, international, not-for-profit, and government.
Sanjay has been published in magazines and journals on Business and Technology, and his half-a-dozen books are read and used by executives, professionals, academics and students at companies and colleges around the world. He is a frequent reviewer of articles, as well as author of articles, for the (ISC)2 Information Security journal. He has been recognized as a Founding Member of the NASBA (National Association of State Boards of Accountancy) Center for Public Trust, and a member of the CEO Roundtable of SOX Compliance Journal. He was recently awarded Professorship of the China Institute of Directors (CIOD) to recognize his contributions to the subject of Economics. He is on the Steering Committee of the RedBook for OCEG, the Open Compliance and Ethics Group.
Academically, he has continued to challenge himself and to learn and to grow by pursuing several degrees and certifications in his “spare time”. These include Masters programs in Computer Science, Business Administration, and Finance/Accounting, as well as certified as CFE from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners in Texas, CCD (Certified Corporate Director) from the World Council on Corporate Governance in the UK, Lifetime Fellowships at the India Institute of Directors and the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineers, and CGEIT (Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT) from ISACA in Chicago. His honorary certifications include CSOX (Certified in Sarbanes-Oxley), CGRC (Certified in Governance, Risk and Compliance) and CGRC-IT (Certified in IT-GRC). He is an active member of over a dozen IT, Audit, Business, Finance, and Accounting industry and trade groups and associations including AAA, NSA, ISACA, ASTD, SHRM, IAAER, amongst others. Sanjay expects to complete his Ph.D. in December 2009.
